From your initial consultation to the final provision of permanent dentures, the All-on-X® method is one of the fastest ways to obtain a full set of teeth in both the upper and lower arches of the mouth. Here are the steps you take from start to finish with All-on-X®.
Your First All-on-X® Consultation
Four or more dental implants can replace all the teeth on the upper or lower jaw, giving the procedure its name — All-on-X®. During your first consultation, our Folsom dentist discusses your goals. Will All-on-X® restore both arches or just one? Do you want permanently attached dentures or a snap-on/snap-off option? What tooth color and appearance suit you best? What medical conditions or habits will potentially affect your procedure outcomes? After understanding your goals and circumstances, detailed x-rays and scans are taken to reveal the bone structure available to anchor the implants. Based your personal jawbone situation, we determine the best All-on-X® approach and select the appropriate implants to ensure success.
Installing the All-on-X® Implants
Digital scans of your jaw and gumline guide the precise placement of all implants at the same time. During this part of the procedure, patients may need tooth extractions and minor gumline modifications to enhance their overall appearance. For most patients, after confirming implant stability, temporary “healing dentures” are attached, allowing you to leave with a full set of teeth on the same day as your procedure!
Enjoying Your New Teeth
After two to three months, the implants fully fuse with the jawbone to support complete chewing function. You then return to our office, and we replace the healing dentures with your customized permanent dentures. If choosing removable dentures, we ensure they attach and detach easily. Your new implants will strengthen your jaw, preserve your jawbone, and thereby improve your appearance and self-esteem.
